Investigation of the Surface Area and Porosity
High Speed Gas Sorption Analyzer
NOVA 2200 (Quantachrome Corp. USA)

The NOVA 2200 will perform rapid and accurate sorption measurements of N2 (nitrogen gas), Ar (argon), CO2 (carbon dioxide), CO (carbon monooxide), O2 (oxygen) or other non-corrosive gases on solid surfaces. The theoretical basis for the operation of the NOVA is Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method is the most widely used procedure for the determination of the surface area of solid materials and involves the use of the BET equation.
Measurements that can be made by the NOVA include:
| • | Multipoint BET surface area |
| • | Single point BET surface area |
| • | External surface area (STSA) |
| • | 100 point adsorption isotherms |
| • | 100 point desorption isotherms |
| • | Total pore volume |
| • | Average pore radius |
| • | BJH pore side distribution based on the adsorption or desorption isotherm |
| • | Approximate sample volume and density |
Many other parameters of a sample, settlement characteristics and graphic dependences may be received with use of the software:
